Samsung S21 showing wrong Phone Number

Hello all

I hope you are all well.

I have recently been moved from BT to EE along with my Phone Number.

The Phone Number seems to have been moved over successfully, however, the Sim is still showing the Phone Number that came with the Sim.

Some sections of the Samsung Galaxy S21 takes the Phone Number from the Sim which is causing some issues for me.

I am Autistic with OCD so this issue is really annoying to me.

Is it possible to Edit the Phone Number which is stored on the Sim?

Thanks in advance

Hello

Sorry, I missed your Reply.

Thanks for the information, much appreciated.

Is there a link or how to regarding connecting a watch to a pay monthly account? Searching help only brings this query which as not actually an answer. It seems to be very difficult to get help on this topic.

Thanks

The poster clearly stated that the phone is an S21 so not an I-phone. Changing the phone number in the user's profile one the mobile does not change the number associated with the device in the phone's about page. It seems that this phone number is used by many services including EE's very own pages for associating a watch with an EE contract. This existing problem is preventing me from associating my watch with my EE sim as the EE pages tell me that the old sim number is not associated with my EE account now that my real mobile number has been ported.

It's extremely difficult to find any information on the EE website for connecting a watch so this issue with EE porting a number to the EE sim seems to break a number of phone functions that were working on my old service provider.

This topic should not be marked as resolved as this response does not fix the issue with the old EE sim number persisting on the Galaxy S21 internal About information.

A full solution would be appreceated.

Thanks

Hi @Thatspete2

Thanks for coming here.

What happens when you try and connect your watch to the phone?

Are you connecting a Samsung watch?

Leanne 🙂

Hi Leanne,

Thanks for replying. I am connecting my Samsung Watch 5 to my Samsung Galaxy S21. Through the Galaxy Wearable app on my phone I go through "Set up a mobile plan". After my phone has connected to my service provider, it take me to the EE page to set up a mobile plan. This takes me to the EE account login page and I successfully log in to my account. I am then presented with the following dialog which indicates that there is a mis-match between the phone number that EE is retrieving from my phone versus the phone number registered to my account. The dialogue is attached.

I do note that EE has my number starting with 079, my Samsung account on my phone has the number starting 4479 and my phone "About" screen has the original sim number starting 074

Thanks @Thatspete2

If you log into your My EE account online, select Plans and Subscriptions, then Manage Numbers, can you change your number to Bill payer from user?

Leanne.

Hi Leanna,

I made the suggested change to my account and this number is now both bill payer and user. I still get the same error from EE that I am not the account holder.

Thanks for trying this @Thatspete2

In this case, please call us on 150 and the team will get this looked into in more detail and help you get the watch connected 🙂

Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

The support team on 150 were able to help resolve this issue and my watch is now connected. FYI - It does not matter that the phone's About screen is showing the old sim number, this issue was related to my online account having two sims associated with it when I was trying to link my phone.

Thanks for your help. Case closed 👍

Pete
