I have the Essentials Unlimited Plus plan, which means I can have access to 5G Standalone Network. My sim card arrived yesterday ,I placed the new sim in my phone and went to ee.co.uk/go/newsim to register it . When putting in my sim card serial number the reply I got was "well that didn't work". Is this a case of me needing to wait 24hrs like google says or once I put in my new sim card it was already fully activated and registered automatically by EE ?

@Anth7 Yes if the new SIM is all working and the old one has stopped, that means the new one was automatically registered and you did need to register it online which is what was causing the error.
If it is 5G+/standalone you specifically are looking for you can check the coverage for it on our webpage.

Hi @Anth7
I'd recommend heading to our Activate and set up a new EE SIM web page for information on how to get a new SIM all set up.

When I went to Activate and set up a new EE Sim web page it said "The Sim should already be activated and ready to go". I googled my problem . What was suggested was if I go to the EE app, click Mobile and Sims and look at my Add Ons and Extras it would show me if 5G was enabled. Also the ICCID is the sim serial number isn't ?

Hi @Anth7
Have you removed the old SIM from your phone before inserting the new SIM?
If you have signal with the new SIM inserter, it means it's already activated.
The ICCID will always show in the device settings when a physical SIM card is inserted, even if it hasn't been activated.

Yes I have removed the old Sim from the phone and put in the new 5G Sim card. The old sim stopped working the very same day the new Sim arrived . Yes I do have Signal, I just was unsure whether it was registered .
