Hi, I transferred my mobile number to my employers EE (multiple subscription) account a number of years ago. I am leaving that employer and they have told me it is not possible to transfer my mobile number (no explanation). I have received a message from EE to my phone saying "Your cancellation has been requested and will complete on dd/mm/yyyy". What can I do to get my employer to port my number to another network (three pay as you go, for example). Thanks, Jungl333

If the number was on your employer's account, then it is they who are responsible for it and who can decide what happens with it.
If they are either unwilling or unable to transfer the number to you, then your dispute is with them. EE can only take instructions from the account holder, and this is your employer - not you.

Depending on the job, I can see why some places would block it. They don't want you receiving calls from people who don't know you've left. This should be made clear if you want to transfer a number over to them though. Maybe check to see if they have an official policy on it?

Thanks Bristolian, As I said I am not sure if they are unwilling (maybe a cancellation fee) or it is somehow not possible technically. Do you know if the message "Your cancellation has been requested and will complete on dd/mm/yyyy" indicates that a SIM block has been requested or that the phone number has in fact been cancelled.

Hi @jungl333
That message would mean that the number is due to be cancelled completely, which would cut off the SIM and stop the number on the date given.
It would need a PAC for you to be able to keep the number, but that could only be approved by the account holder at the business.

When you transferred your mobile number to your employer you relinquished all right to it.
