PAC encountering difficulties

I've just joined EE from Three. When ordering my new phone and contract, I provided the PAC code that I was given from Three. My phone arrived yesterday and I've received a text notification to say that something has gone wrong with my PAC port-in request. I've also been told not to contact EE - they will contact me. 

Has anybody else encountered this and did it get sorted? I need to get sorted because currently I am paying a ridiculous amount for 2 different contracts.

Who told you this, and how? What was the exact wording of the message regarding "something going wrong"?

If this is along the lines of "there's a problem, no need to contact us" - that's not to say you can't call 150 to chase progress.
