Not receiving texts after number port

Hi there. I have exactly the same problem. Ported my number to EE and since then not receiving sms messages. Everything else is working fine, but sms messages not coming through. I can receive all phone calls, but sms are only received from 150. I'm receiving all text messages from 150 and can reply to service messages, but all other text messages are blocked it seems. My question to OP how did you manage to resolve it? Customer service is no help. They are saying that I have to top up my pay as you go sim in order to be able to receive sms. How come I can receive phone calls, but not sms? It's been over a week since I ported my number if this makes any difference. Thanks to everyone who might help.

Hi there @Wish36

Thanks for coming to the community.

Have you topped up since you received the EE SIM? Do you have an active subscription pack?

Leanne.

Hi @Leanne_T

Thank you for getting back to me.

No, I don't have any active plan and I haven't topped up my PAYG sim. I'm not planning on making calls, only receiving texts and calls. Where does it says I have to top up before I can receive text messages? And isn't this strange that I can receive phone calls, but not sms? Only sms from 150 are delivered.

Hi there @Wish36

Thanks for the quick reply.

As our mobile guides have advised, the SIM card would need to be topped up to remove the text message block. Once topped up the SIM card will become fully active.

Leanne.

I have also tried adding my number in an EE account, but without the sms I'm unable to link/verify the number in question. Any solutions to linking my number without the passcode?

The solution to receiving SMS is in Leanne_T's most recent post to this thread.

Adding some credit to your PAYG line will remove the restriction on SMS receipt.

Hi @bristolian

Can you point me please to the T&Cs where it says I have to top-up before I can receive text messages? Thanks

Thanks @Matt_124 I appreciate it.

One more question, can I request a PAC code without the credit?

You can try by texting PAC to 65075, but I would imagine you may have to speak to Customer Services to get this due to the SMS block and lack of credit.
