New sim card arriving after delivery of phone upgrade

I have upgraded my phone from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16. The handset is arriving today, however there is a new sim being sent separately. Question is, do I need to use the new sim, or will my old sim work?

If the SIM card fits in the new upgrade, this should work for you until you receive the new SIM card.
