Is it possible to port a number when outside of the UK?

If an EE eSIM card is activated in the UK, would I then be able to port a number whilst abroad or does that need to happen whilst still in the UK too?

@lg251  You need to get connected to a UK network to port a number to another SIM card/eSim.    

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
