I am currently with Sky but porting my number across to ee.
I have received my new ee sim card today and have already provided PAC code.
Can I now enter the new sim card into my phone and start the porting process and then put the old sky sim card back in to my phone until the porting is complete? I dont really want to send my new ee number to contacts if it is only for a couple of days but dont want to miss calls etc

Yep that's the move. Insert the EE card to start the porting process, then you can put back in the Sky card and use this until it disconnects and then the EE SIM will be active with your number.

Your new EE SIM will have a temporary number assigned when you first receive it. If a PAC was supplied as part of the order, that will be submitted when you first activate the new SIM onto EE's network.
A port-in date will be set then, usually the following working day. This assumes activation during normal working hours - if during the evening, add an extra working day to these timescales.

No worries at all.
I would just recommend anyone to keep the EE sim and a SIM Tray pin with them, in case it would change over at an unexpected time in the day.
