Hi there just started pay as you go with EE and I’m getting charged for a WiFi call abroad !
was previously with giff gaff and it didn’t charge me, even after turning my phone into flight mode and turning off cellular network I still get charged has anyone have this same issue ?
Called 150 guy didn’t know why it has happened and gave me 10£ credit but still getting charged .

Seriously not . Just WiFi call settting ON in my settings.
many people doesn’t know this personally I didn’t know you could call for free with that setting till my partner told me .
But OBVIOUSLY it doesn’t work on EE !
And you get charged .

i literally made calls from other networks my partner still does call from o2 via WiFi and doesn’t get charged.
I quote from https://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/wifi-and-4g-calling which confirms my assertion. See my highlight - I am confident that all UK networks operate this way.

Yeh WiFi calling comes out of your normal allowance so for example if I had unlimited texts and calls it wouldn’t charge me when I called abroad , where here (EE) it does charge you from your credit allowance when you make call abroad .

Yes, O2 don't charge you extra for using WiFi Calling itself but they do charge you for International Calling.
How do I call a foreign number from the UK? :
Make sure you have some credit in your account. Calling international numbers isn’t included with our plans.

Mind you I have had pack for 15£ a month in giff gaff plus credit on my account about 5£ because when I have drained it I couldn’t make that WiFi call but when I had credit then after call you receive txt message with your balance completely unchanged.

Hi @kamiorl
If you use calls over data such as WhatsApp call over wifi you won't be charged.
If you use WiFi calling over EE network you will be charged as you are making a call.
Thanks
