@kamiorl WiFi calling doesn’t work when abroad and if you can use it you’ll be charged still. WiFi calling isn’t a means to get out of charges it using your call allowance and if you have a roaming add on that allows you to use your call allowance then you’ll not be charged.
WiFi calling only gives you a working signal when in a poor to no signal area and that’s all it’s for it doesn’t get you out of additional charges because you’re using WiFi calling.
But you say calls but via what service? Ie app on your device? The phone app or other app ?

Hi Chris
Thanks for that, I am not abroad, I call my family abroad from UK and when I was with giff gaff and had WiFi calling turned on in my iPhone I wasn’t getting charged for calls over WiFi I do not use any apps just normal dial. Shame on EE that they are charging for that .

WiFi-calling, on all UK networks, is a means to extend coverage indoors whilst still routing calls & texts over the operator's core network.
You may be getting confused with app-based calls between users of that app.

O2 also charge for International Calls. Never used GiffGaff but would be surprised if they didn't.
GG does too! See How do I call a foreign number from the UK? :
Make sure you have some credit in your account. Calling international numbers isn’t included with our plans.
See also WiFi Calling and VoLTE? :
You’ll need to be in the UK and have an active plan or credit to make use of it.

For O2: See WiFi and 4G Calling :
How do I pay for WiFi and 4G Calling? It’s no different to making a standard call or sending a standard text message (if you have a supported device that allows for SMS services over WiFi). It will come out of your tariff allowances or be charged at the standard tariff rate if you run out.
For GG: See also WiFi Calling and VoLTE? :
You’ll need to be in the UK and have an active plan or credit to make use of it.
