Hello all. I have a new Apple iPad that's on contract with EE. Works fine in the UK but doesn't abroad.
Add-on.ee.co.uk - says I am roaming abroad and have plenty of data but any other website outside of EE doesn't work. I can log in to my EE account on the iPad but everything else just won't load. Nothing else in my browser works, no Gmail, no app store. I'm connected via 5g on the same network as my phone. Any suggestions?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Thanks for your replies. Currently in France. It was a contract upgrade. I have roaming on my package.
Phoned EE and spoke to tech support. The spend cap had glitched and was locking out data.

@ashleycardwell9 : Is the iPad on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?
If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.
Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.
Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

Where in the world are you? If you are outside the EU, then your UK allowances are not applicable and you'll need am add-on of some kind.
