Roaming Add-on's confusion

Hi

I'm currently on a contract with EE thats ended (been on it over 2.5 yrs) and I'm looking at switching to a different plan. I currently have 3 added bonus' and one of them is Roam Abroad Pass but I can't find what actual countries that includes, it only states 47 EU + USA, Australia and more.

The plan I'm looking at switching to is the Unlimited Full Works iPhone and it states EU and Further.. whats that include? I was just looking at my Add-on also as I have never changed them, whats the new Roaming Pass ROW? and whats thats include. I can't find any information on this besides page about a different zones. Are these roaming add-ons one of these zones? Hope someone can clear this up for me.

Thanks in advance.

  1. The Roam Abroad Pass covers the EU, USA, Canada, Mexico, NZ & Oz.
  2. The Full Works Plan includes the same countries as the Roam Abroad Pass.
  3. The ROW 1 Pass covers more countries than the Roam Abroad Pass but is not included in any plan. You have to buy it when you get to the countries concerned. For a fuller description of the current Roaming Passes see Roaming Refresh

Thank for this, so I'm actually better changing my current Roam Abroad Pass to the ROW1 pass as I get more? So if I was to switch to the new plan,  I'd loose that and go back to the current one I'm on now but have to pay £25 per week if I go to any of the countries in ROW1 as they're not included?

You don't just add the ROW1 Pass to your plan like you used to do with the Roam Abroad Pass. You only buy it when you visit its countries a day or a week at a time.

The advice you are giving seems to be a little out of date and is contrary to advice being given by EE guides when called  and is contrary to customer experience that’s actually happening while roaming (check out the many recent posts on the roaming refresh thread).  It seems that the app is the only part that is out of date.

Full works now includes ROW Zone 1 and this is confirmed by customers who are currently travelling, including me. I have literally just landed back in the UAE and I am roaming with no need to purchase an additional pass and have received the welcome text from EE telling me my roaming is included. I was told by EE  CS that the app will be updated within 2-3 weeks but any Full Works customers roaming (in Z1) will not be charged. Hope that helps.

So just to confirm; if I was to take this plan out... the roaming would be the EU + ROW Zone 1? Thanks 🙂

"further" is undefined there.

Typical huh. There is so much conflicting information on here and their customer service chat too.

Have a read through the last few pages of this thread https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Roaming/Roaming-refresh/td-p/1480939/page/24

It seems that the app and plan descriptions are yet to be updated but you will see from that thread that customers already on Full works plans are seeing billing changes, add on description changes and most importantly customers are roaming in Z1 without charge. I have been in UAE twice, as has my wife and also Montenegro, other customers have been elsewhere recently all with no issue.
This is the text I received a couple of hours ago ….

The only pass I have is the included pass with full works …. Inside the app it shows the roam further pass as covering rest of world. (See below.) … it used to name the roam further countries (USA, New Zealand etc )

Yeah I've been reading the thread, it's like EE can't come out and say it's X Y Z.

I spoke to their chat this evening and the guy told me it's EU + USA, Canada, Australia and NZ. So a lot of confusing and conflicting information. I don't want to change my plan and lose out as I currently get the Full Works + 3 extras I can change when I please, but the Unlimited Full Works iPhone is half the price for me (F+F discount). Hopefully soon more answers and customer conformations on here can confirms the Full Works plans now come with EU + Zone 1
