Confused about EU roaming and EE protected plans

Campbell53
Visitor

Do children's protected plans allow for EU roaming? If so, does the child get sent a link to buy a pass sent by text message once abroad (in EU) in the same way that an ordinary non-protected SIM/account would? Then has to ask for permission tom do this? I've already extended the price cap to allow for any additional spend.

If not, how do you buy EU roaming pass for a child with a protected plan? Can I do it remotely with access to the account?

Thanks for any help. I'm very new to my child using the protected SIM plan.
