I’m currently on a full works pay monthly which has inclusive roaming. Just got a text saying that the roaming plans are changing and it looks like they’ll now be chargeable.
Is this correct?

Much appreciate that news. Seems that customer loyalty can sometimes pay off...

I don't know how you can call it an improvement when you have discountinued the Roam Abroad Pass. Initially £10 for 30 days, this increased to £25 last year. Now it is no longer available and, instead, for USA you are charging £5 PER DAY or £25 PER WEEK! That's just scuppered my plans as I leave on Thursday for a 3 week USA holiday. No warning, no information. I only found out because I phoned CS to check if my previous activation was still valid. The chap I spoke with was, quite rightly, embarassed. Shame on you, EE.

It’s clear they want people to have the more expensive plans with the inclusive extras…. Hence the pricing structure of the passes…

Agreed. I'm on SIM ONLY so definitely a 2nd Class citizen as far as EE are concerned. I'm retired and don't need a new phone every 6 months!

OK I've finally found the answer to my question.
The T&Cs for Inclusive Extras have been updated for plans taken out prior to 29 August 2024.
Inclusive Extras T&C home page --> Inclusive Extras Terms & Conditions | Help | EE
I have a SIM Only All Rounder plan from October 2023 so read through Inclusive Extra T&Cs - for plans up to 28 August 2024 - updated Dec 24.
It's made clear in here that from a roaming perspective, there are two new inclusive extras to choose from:
The list of destinations available in Roaming Pass - Zone 1 is very generous:
Access your standard plan allowances in Albania, Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Faroe Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Israel, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, Oman, Peru, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States, Vietnam in addition to the UK and Republic of Ireland. Remember, data fair use policy outside UK of 50GB applies. See ee.co.uk/terms for countries and details. Allowances last until next bill or until used up, whichever comes first. Allowances don’t roll over. Our stable links policy applies, as set out in the Plan Terms. Once you have used up the allowance, or hit your 50GB fair use amount, standard rates apply as set out in the Non-Standard Price Guide.
The only gotcha I can think of is I can only have one inclusive extra active, and can only be changed every 30 days. So if I travel to one of the Zone 1 destinations and have the (more expensive) Roaming Pass - Zone 1 active, but have a layover in an EU destination, then there's no allowance in the EU without paying up.

100% agree. This is a chang implemented to raise easy revenue and to force people who utilise periodic travel options, to migrate to expensive plans. Spent two hours on chat with service team yesterday whos advice was "take out a local sim" which is actually what I will do now. There are MUCH better alternates now than sticking with EE. Like yourself, I have very long customer loyalty and have stuck with EE mainly as they offered some benefits which were useful. Thats no longer the case. An option which two years ago cost £10pcm and then raised to £25 pcm, is nor £100 pcm. Thats an outragous raise.
The fact that they are now telling customers to WAIT until they arrive at their destination where they will be informed on package options (£5 per day or £25 per week) is specifically designed to force you into a difficult, revenue raising decision.

I'm hoping this isn't true and the T&C's are wrong. It'll be a downgrade from the current extra in one way, as you said, you can't fly to a Zone 1 country with a layover in an EU country. It also severely limits the usefulness of some of the extra countries, e.g. if I drove from Croatia to Bulgaria via Serbia, I'd have to choose either no data in Serbia, or no data in Croatia and Bulgaria...
The new inclusive extra "Roaming Pass ROW" says it includes EU and "Eligible countries in the ROW1 zone". It doesn't state what "Eligible countries" are, so I asked EE livechat and they said it includes EU and every country in Zone 1. I hope this is true. EE also removed the text stating there'll be two new extras one for each zone from their roaming refresh page last week.
So I really hope all that means that the one extra will include EU and all of Zone 1.

Agree with your points.
Whoever is responsible for rolling out this change has done such a poor job so far.
There are inconsistencies across the T&Cs, various pages, and also live chat as you’ve just found.
The points I’ve made a few days ago that were forwarded on to the relevant department still haven’t been fixed.
It’s pretty hopeless!
Keep your live chat transcript in case you need to claim a refund later!

Hi, please can you confirm that this is still the case. I have received a text from you today to say "we have removed your travel data pass - if you didn't ask for this, it's because we're shaking up our roaming products."
