Loss of inclusive roaming

I’m currently on a full works pay monthly which has inclusive roaming. Just got a text saying that the roaming plans are changing and it looks like they’ll now be chargeable.

Is this correct?

I wish I could edit my previous post to remove the optimistic tone.
But more than that, I wish EE would say what they mean NOW, as I'm travelling on Dec 6 and will change to O2 now if EE are removing my inclusive roaming. I had been thinking of taking their broadband too - not after this mess I won't.

No. They haven't.

I received a text on 21st Nov stating my current roaming products will be removed on 8th December. That is not a month.

In that case, they’ll either be replacing your package with an equivalent EU bundle, or you’d have an argument to keep it for at least the 30 days before removing it. Best to wait and see what comes out from their communication channels. Hopefully won’t be too long…

Hi @Michajloos

If you are still on a plan from 2020 with inclusive EU roaming this will not change.

@Katie_B

With respect Katie, how can we be sure of what you say? Are you quoting from an official document? There's nothing in writing that I have seen that supports your assertion. Customers need cast iron reassurance, or they're walking!

I think at this point we need to accept what Katie is saying as someone from the business, albeit with a caveat that we’re waiting for formal clarification. Notwithstanding this, my point stands that any mobile provider can change terms or remove/add services with adequate notice if a consumer is out of their minimum term contract - and they could even do it within the minimum term however that would allow consumers to exit their airtime contracts early without charge - and most networks don’t like doing that for obvious reasons…

@Plymouthbloke1

You're right of course, but talk is cheap, and this thread is brimful of hearsay (inc. from EE agents). It's already Nov 29th and we've had no formal statements since all this started on the 20th.

Hey . Ok Thank You so i dont have to worry about it and wont be suddenly changed into something i never asked for and charged extras because i also received txt message  that there will be new roaming from 4th Dec and my roaming  will be removed on 28th december ? Yes October 2020 that was a last time i did upgrade to contract   Sim Only Plan with all data , calls and text benefits In UK and EU  (Unlimited) with Travel Data ,F&F and since i didnt need any new phone and plan was good for me i didnt do any upgrade/updates or adding anything after Contract ended in 2022 so im Running still on Plan from 2020 and never had any issue or extra charges ,although prices been increasing every year anyway, but overall i am paying costumer on contract  since 2011 ( or maybe even earlier ,back when it was still Orange) so it would be kind of bad if they suddenly start charging me some extras or changing anything for roaming, since i never had any unexpected issues before i never considered changing network provider as i was happy with it but that txt message from EE started kind of worrying me. My allowance refresh on 29th every month and billing date is by 7th.

I had cause to ring EE today on another matter! Well it’s sort of connected - my latest bill is higher than it should be - it turns out it’s something to do with the discount I get and it’s only effecting those of us on the old contracts - so check you latest bill in case you’ve been charged more (or given less discount - same thing)! They are aware and should be automatically correcting it but she’s out a refund request through for me!

Whilst I was on the phone I asked her outright about this ridiculous communication we’ve had re the roaming charges!

I explained how miffed we were and what did it mean for those of us on old contracts (I’ve had my contract SIM only since 2017) she said that absolutely nothing would change and my EU data roaming would still apply!  I felt sorry for her having to deal with all the fall out!

I think they may well have lost a number of customers already - or maybe that was the end game all along!!!!!!
