Data Roaming Not Working Again and Can't Get Through to 150

How do I get EE to set up roaming so that it works each time I go abroad? I had the problem on holiday twice last year, again in January and now in the USA I find that I'm ok for calls and texts but data roaming won't work. Yes it's enabled on the phone and yes I have turned off and on again. Three times.

With the 7 hour time difference there are only a few hours available to catch their 'support' line and guess what, each time today I ring 150 it says call busy. No reply on WhatsApp.

Yesterday I did manage to speak with someone on 150 who charged me £10.79 to set up data roaming. When I log in to my account I can see it has been added. But still data roaming doesn't work. Taking money for a service but not providing the service is theft.

Of course the problem with roaming is that when I'm back in the UK, I can't test it. Both the app and the web interface say that it's enabled but it doesn't work, and EE aren't answering the phone today. I'm going to have to change to another supplier when I get back to the UK. EE have let me down over roaming too many times.

For some longer trips I have bought an eSIM but for the few days I'm here I thought I'd use roaming, but once again EE have let me down.

Any tips on how I can actually speak to an agent who can resolve this problem for me?

Thanks

You won't have been charged for data roaming as a service - the roaming facility is always free. But whilst voice & text can be charged on a per-use basis without an add-on, data needs an add-on to work whilst roaming. I suspect the £10.79 may be a reference to that, but have you purchased a data add-on?

Once that's ruled out, the standard advice of manually cycling through local networks in turn, is next.

Hi @Jaftech

Have you checked your spend cap.

It can take 24 hours to activate any service and will need a restart.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

Not helpful for EE to post a standard message telling me to call 150. Clearly haven't read my post in any detail.

When I text SPEND CAP to 150 I get the response 'There has been a problem with your request, please call 150'
