Loss of inclusive roaming

I’m currently on a full works pay monthly which has inclusive roaming. Just got a text saying that the roaming plans are changing and it looks like they’ll now be chargeable.

Is this correct?

I’ve also had the same text!

I am on an old contract abd have EU data roaming as part of that contract! I’m led to believe that it can’t be taken away unless I sign up to a new contract!

it’s the only reason I’ve stayed with EE!

it would be good if someone would confirm that we retain our EU roaming!!!

I travelled to EU since receiving this message: I can confirm you are not
charged for further data.

I assume the message was referring to the travel data pass – the 500GB for
~£6 when going to South Africa etc.

Hi all.

The text message was about removing the travel data pass add-on. It won't affect anything that you have included in your plan.

What a con by one of the largest mobile providers.

I'm (was) a BT user and enjoyed roam like home on my package. Since BT acquired EE I kept getting emails trying to make me move to EE. I resisted until recently when the offer was to a better contract than my current one, so I thought. I frequent the IOM where my daughter resides, now I have to pay to use my allowance! If the change over details had listed that I would have to pay extra for RLH I would have looked elsewhere. Surely there should be a monthly price that makes it better. Anyhow, adding another cost to the monthly bill makes EE contracts look very poor value for money. If O2 can offer RHL for free so can EE.

Come contract end I will be looking around!

Good afternoon @RAP77.

Welcome to the EE Community!

If you're travelling over to the Isle of Mann frequently, I can totally understand why the ability to connect here is an important feature  you'd be looking for in a contract.

Whilst this isn't included in plans as standard, we do offer a number of plans that do offer it as a feature, and if you get in touch with our team, they'll be able to look into whether we can get you switched over to one of these.

They'd also be able to speak with you about the experience you had when taking out the contract too, as I can appreciate it will come as a surprise if you were expecting this feature to have carried over from BT.

Inclusive roaming in Europe is one of the main reasons I'm sticking with my present long-standing contract with EE. The problem is that the contract cost rises every year, so at some point I'll have to decide whether the inclusive minutes/data still represent value for money. Data sharing between family members is another plus I like. If I do decide to change contract (within EE or not), the cost of roaming abroad will be at the top of my list of criteria.
