Hi all, going to Corfu shortly and heard tales about phone automatically linking to Albania network in the area we're going to, and having high charges! Not technically minded at all. Have a samsung A52s. Can anyone give me a step by step idiots guide on how to stop this?
Thanks for any help.

Hello @Susan171 ,
Welcome to the community,
If you want to make sure that your phone does not automatically connect to Albanian network, I would suggest doing a manual search for a network. You would need to go into settings and look for mobile settings and then Network selection and switch off automatic, at least that is how it is done on IPhone, so suspect the same on a Samsung, or you can switch data off, but keep roaming on.

Phones are generally set to "automatic" network selection, and when roaming abroad this means they will usually choose the strongest available network (with certain caveats).
If you're in a location where an Albanian network has better coverage than a Greek network, then your phone "may" choose to connect to that - especially if you lose coverage of the Greek network.
Disabling data-roaming and/or mobile data in your phone's settings will only stop mobile data being used when roaming - it won't stop you making or receiving calls, sending or receiving text messages anytime you have network coverage.
