Phone number and text numbers different

Morning.

I have a hauwei p30 Pro and just ported my number over from 3 this morning.

I had a text from EE to say the number had been swapped, however my phone number has been ported and is the one I wanted to bring me.

Texting, however, is the sim card number I received with the phone, not my ported number.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going on please.

Tried contacting EE with no joy.

Thank you.

Hi @Boarddrifter,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Have you restarted your phone since your number ported?

Thanks

James

Re: Phone number and text numbers different

Hi.

Yes I have, a number of times. They can text me on my ported number but any texts I send are from the sim that came with the phone, not my ported number.

Bizarre

Re: Phone number and text numbers different

Hi @Boarddrifter,

Is chat enabled in your messaging app settings?

If it is, can you try turning it off and restarting your phone before turning it back on.

Thanks

James

Re: Phone number and text numbers different

Hi James.

Thanks for the reply, just tried it and it made no difference.

Like I say, I can be texted by friends on the ported number OK, it's just if I text them, the supplied sim number comes up.

Re: Phone number and text numbers different

Thanks for trying that @Boarddrifter

Please leave it for 24 hours to make sure your port is fully complete.

If the issue persists, please get in touch with Customer Care so we can raise it to our porting team for investigation.
