SIM Only PAYG Purchase Add-On

I have a sim only PAYG which has run out of minutes. I have topped up my credit and when I go to buy an add-on, the card process does not work as it requires an online authorisation so rejects the attempt rather than generating a request to my bank for online authentication. Is there another way as I do not have an EE phone for 150 communication.

Thank you

Yes, there really is when the SIM is not in a phone or router that can receive SMS.

As far I can see the only way is to put the SIM in a phone 1-time in order to register the no. with your EE a/c initially. This involves EE sending an authorisation text to the no. Once this has been carried out you may put the SIM back in the intercom & thereafter you may top-up & buy add-ons thro' your EE a/c.

Hi @MarkJones2

Thanks for coming to the community.

Have you tried using another browser and checked block pop ups is turned off?

Are you using a UK bank debit or credit card?

Leanne 🙂

Thanks Leanne

I have tried buying add on minutes using my top-up credit but I get an addons purchase error message and EE 'are working on it'. Is this a long term issue?

Yes I am using google chrome and a uk mastercard debit card

What does texting AL to 150 from your no. fully report verbatim (it is free)?

Are you there Leanne? Are EE working to fix the PAYE add on page to be able to purchase minutes?

Hi @MarkJones2

Can you text AL to 150 and let us know the reply?

Leanne.

Hi Leanne

I only have a sim in an intercom for a gate so only need minutes for intercom call.

I do not have a phone to ring 150

Is there a problem with the addon for payg minutes?
