Had you recently moved from a contract to PAYG?

If so, When was your SIM moved to PAYG? It takes 30 days notice to cancel a contract & before it is moved to PAYG. Had that change taken place while abroad you can't now use it at all while abroad. To be used abroad EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

Hello @Brenda69 ,

Welcome to the community,

If you are on contract, did you text roaming before leaving EE? If not, you would have to use another phone to get roaming enabled.

If you have text roaming before leaving the UK, then you should have received the Welcome Message from EE and from that you can then add the amount you want for the 7 days, sorry but without texting roaming before leaving the UK, the only way is to now ring customer service, either by using a web app or by using another phone.

If you are on pay as you go, then roaming is automatically enabled and you should have received the welcome message, where you can apply the added data for your trip straight from the message.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Texting ROAMING is not for PAYG users, only contract.

On PAYG there will be roaming charges to use your pack allowances in the EU, to be taken only from your PAYG credit, not your recurring card payment. You will receive a msg upon arrival offering & inviting you to take up the options for roaming in EU of either £2.50 / day, by replying ROAMEU1D to 150, or £10 / week, by replying ROAMEU7D to 150. If you opt to reply neither or you don't have an active pack, you will be paying standard rates for calls & texts & will need to buy a PAYG add-on for data.

Hi @Brenda69

Following @XRaySpeX advice, you can find out more at Pay as you go charges for roaming in the EU

For the Daily or 7-day pass to work you need to have an active 30-Day plan or Saver plan- Those bundles allows you to use your existing plan allowance while in EU.

You can visit Contact Us From Abroad | EE for details on how to call Customer Service from Italy using a different phone.

Ali

I am unable to send any texts to 150 as they are not delivered, similarly I cannot contact them by phone as this doesn’t work either until I buy the roaming pack. I have tried to follow all the instructions on the website but without success
