Problems Activating a PAYG SIM

I bought a PAYG sim from WH Smith Yesterday,  When I tried to activate it online it said there as a problem with the serial number. I rang customer services 3 times and was told to restart my device and they would call me back. They didn't or couldn't. When I rang back I was told there was nothing wrong with the sim card.  But  I cant receive calls.  And I've still not been able to  activate my Sim Card

What is the URL where you're trying to activate it?

Pay as you go SIM cards are normally ready to use after being topped up.
