Hi, please could I ask for some guidance regarding making a call / text to the UK with my UK EE phone number.
I currently live in Australia and have an Australian number with a different service. I do not use my UK EE number here but in order for me to keep my number, I have to make 1 call or 1 text every so often. My EE number is pay as you go and I have paid for an add on to make these calls / texts.
Every time I try to make a call it immediately says something along the lines of 'Number a barred' and hangs up. I have put the +44 before the number and also tried the 0011 44 ...
I am unsure if the 0011 is even needed as I am making one call / text from a UK number to another UK number.
Please could someone help me as I do not want to lose this number!
Thanks 🙂

@CLR25 : You are having to keep your PAYG SIM from going into hibernation by making a chargeable action within every 180 days.
What is this add-on to make calls / texts that you've bought & how much do you pay for it? I have doubts that there is such an add-on.

@CLR25 , just to add to what @XRaySpeX has written, to make a call or send a text to the UK, you either need +44 or 0044, not sure what 001144 is, that is certainly incorrect, and yes, you do still need to either put +44 or 0044 to ring or text a UK number when abroad.

I presume that the '0011' is the Oz International prefix but using '+44' should work for all UK calls from any country w/out worrying about their International prefixes.
