New EU roaming fee

lambomax70

Hi all,

Have been on a monthly pack since 2014. Now living in the EU and have received a message this morning saying that from tomorrow, I will be charged  to use my data here.

Firstly the fact that I am told 1 day in advance is incredibly frustrating, so thank you EE.

Can anyone confirm that I will be subject to these new rules please? Currently the website states that if pack is before 2021, all will be fine.

TIA

Good morning @lambomax70

Welcome to the community.

Is your SIM a pay as you go or pay monthly SIM?

Katie

Hi Katie,

I pay £10 a month for my sim, so not pay as you go.

Hi @lambomax70

Is it a re-occurring pack which is pay as you go but reoccurring payments are taken or is it an old contract that has expired?

Contracts that are expired and rolling each month that started before 7th July 2021 will not be affected by any changes.

Pay as you go customers and pay monthly contracts that started after 7th July 2021 will be charged for using their phone in the EU.

Pay as you go £2.50 per day or £10 per week. Pay monthly is £2.29 per day or £15 per month.

Katie

Hi Katie,

By pay as you go do you mean I pay for the data I use? In that case no- once my monthly pack runs out (30th of the month ATM) I pay another £10 and receive the same amount of data etc as the month before.

As it is an old contract, from 2016, it is likely that it has expired but still works perfectly ofc.

So would this mean I am unaffected?

Regards

Hi Katie- just to confirm it was never bundled with a phone- I purchased my phone SIM free and bought this pack in 2016.

Hi @lambomax70

Firstly, we need to establish if this is a pay monthly SIM or a pay as you go SIM with a reoccurring monthly pack so the right information can be provided.

When you log in to your My EE what does it show as your plan?

Speak soon,

Katie
