How many days before going abroad should a EE PAYG customer text ROAMING to 150?

PAYG is auto-enabled for roaming, once the SIM is used on EE's UK network first. Ensure this is done.

@Middlesaxon  You might want to read THIS  texting roaming is for contract customers 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks Chris_B, I've read it. My trip is to the USA. I'm sure I read on EE not long ago that for your phone to work properly abroad, payg customers need to switch on roaming by sending a text message to 150. Has this policy been changed? Or was I mistaken?

Never! That's only for contracts. Just make sure you use that SIM in UK to make a call or text before you leave for US.
