£5 payg plan?

Why has it been removed? I'm a pensioner who barely uses his phone but now I'm either going to have to pay double or have no plan and pay 40p a minute. You should be helping people in these times as we're all skint. I don't need data as I use my WiFi I didn't even use half of my calls last time so now if I want it the cheapest is £10. Been with EE since it was T-mobile and this feels like a kick in the teeth as you're forcing the likes of me to pay 100% more.

@XRaySpeX

PLAN05 must have just become an error this month as that's what I've always used, it's not an error it's been discontinued as far as I can tell. I got no email or message saying it was ending it's just been abruptly stopped.

PLAN05 is in error in that it contradicts itself. It is offered but cannot be bought. I'm not saying which should be correct, whether it should exist or it should not be offered.

Hi @Honesto

If you give our customer support team a call, they'll be able to look at your account history and check what is available to you.

Hopefully, they can get everything cleared up for you.

Chris

Cheers @Christopher_G  but I've decided to not bother with any plans I'm just using WhatsApp instead and I'll make a short call every few months using my credit to keep my number active. I've still got my BT landline with unlimited calls, I only needed the £5 addon to make calls when I'm out and about which isn't often.  I would have gladly paid the £5 but I'm certainly not paying £10. Just totally getting rid of the lowest tier and replacing it with a 100% hike plan is harsh to say the least.

This has happened to me too this week. Received my usual 'Your 30 day £5 plan will renew automatically tomorrow night using your Mastercard...' Then another text the following evening saying 'To use data on your phone, you'll need an add-on or plan'. I've logged into the app to see I apparently and without any notice no longer have a plan and have zero credit or data. When I search 150 for available plans, PLAN05 is still presenting as an option, but when I text the code, it is not recognised. I have tried calling the customer care helpline, but it states this is unavailable. Care to assist a lifelong, loyal customer EE, because this is poor service to say the least? The £5 pack was more than enough for my usage, why should I pay more unnecessarily? And why has no notice been given, I've just been left high and dry?

Hi @Kate000

Welcome to the community.

I am sorry you have been experiencing issues.

What was advised when you spoke with our customer care team?

Thanks

Ritu

Hi Ritu,

As I said in my post, I haven't been able to get through to your team. Every time I ring it says 'This service is temporarily unavailable'. I don't know whether this is a wider issue or if it's because you've ended my pack and cannot make calls.

Thanks for explaining that @Kate000

If you are unable to call from your phone, you could Contact Us from an alternative phone.

Thanks

Ritu

I don't have an alternative phone.
