Hi. My mum is an EE customer on a phone that isn’t supported by 4G/5G and is currently on a pay as you go plan with EE. She has just upgraded her phone so she can continue to use data on 4G. Does she need to purchase a new SIM only plan from EE or will her current SIM work on the 4G network once placed into the new phone. if she has to purchase a new SIM only plan will her number automatically be transferred?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If your Mum is on an EE PAYG plan with a 4G-phone, she should be able to use 4G services.

@Betzy : She is probably on a EE 3G PAYG plan. If so, she could buy a current PAYG SIM & then ask CS to transfer her existing no.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

A good way of being sure, is to try it! Put her existing SIM in the new 4G phone and see what happens....
