ICON ON TOP LEFT OF PHONE

HELLO, can someone help me out, I dont use my phone much, its an old pay as you go, I have a company phone I use more.

on the phone is a strange icon, it looks like a sim card (on the top left), it appeared a few weeks ago, I have topped up in a while, maybe its a reminder? or is it saying it will expire soon? any one know what it means?

@JANL2 : Phones don't remind you of top-ups. Getting reminder texts from EE and/or not being able to use it on the mobile network are your usual indications.

Which phone is it? 

Does it work for making calls & text and using data?

Its called MobiWire. its pretty old and not a smartphone. (not that I know of)

the icon is in the middle, between the "RM" (roaming?) and the padlock... i dont know what this means. thanks!!
