If you are waiting for a phone being delivered check your parcel immeadiately.
Today I had a new Iphone 15 Pro Max delivered this afternoon by DPD and upon opening the box and powering it up I have discovered it is a counterfeit chinese phone running android. I've reported it and am now also stuck in limbo like the previous poster awaiting a call tomorrow from ee pending a further investigation.
At first appearance the fake looks very similar to a real iPhone (identical box, size, colour) however the camera module on the back is different and upon powering up it becomes obvious that it is running a skinned version of android made to lool like ios.
Unfortunately I had fitted the enclosed SIM card and manually logged into my apple account during the (rather convincing) setup screens o have now had to reset all my credentials just in case. This is massively stressful.

This has just happened to me too. Attempted delivery yesterday but I have. Ring doorbell there was no attempt made and people at home as well. He “Alberto” of DPD drove straight past my house and then stopped to take a photo to say sorry we missed you from dpd. Then I waited in today for the delivery to make sure. Received phone package looked suspicious fonts were different stickers were used on the box instead of direct print so many things about the phone were clearly fake went to my local ee store and were fantastic at helping me but still in to go through the normal returns process that can’t be done in store. Also I ordered a natural titanium 256gb and actually received white titanium 1tb model and the IMIE numbers don’t match up either so it’s clearly a brainless thug mess up from the start but I do believe “Alberto” of DPD swapped this for a fake because of the delivery process being suspicious. I have photo and video evidence of these things too.

I am sorry to hear this has happened.
I would suggest calling us on 150 and our mobile guides will get this looked into in more detail for you and if needed can raise this with the relevant department.

Exactly the same has just happened to me. After 6 hours trying to set up the phone, speaking to Apple, then EE. Then to Apple again and then back to EE. I realised that the IMEI number on the box did not match the phone itself. This really only came to light when EE told me that the phone in the box was on my find my with Apple, which was impossible. All agreed with EE to replace it on the next day , but late at night a text came through from EE saying that there was a return problem and they would ring me Monday ( this being Saturday) . The person at EE said that they had never heard of this issue before. But clearly they have. I did ring EE on the Saturday and was told that the supplied phone had been purchased in China and that this will be sorted on Monday. Because EE kept ringing me and texting on the supplied sim telephone number, I did keep the sim in the fake phone. However, EE sent me a message warning me of over use , which is impossible because I have not used it. In addition to this I have been receiving messages with a Google messenger authentication number, which I have no idea what that is about. I have taken the sim out of the phone now and switched it off. I await EE sorting this out on Monday. To think, I switched over from Tesco mobile for this fiasco.

Hi @Steve710
Welcome to our community.
I'm sorry for the stress this has caused.
It sounds like our customer care team are on the case, can you let me know how you get on when they contact you on Monday?
Thanks
Leanne.

Just to provide an update, after speaking to just about every EE call centre the following Monday, finally , after saying I wanted to cancel the whole thing. A supply chain manager called Tom organised a replacement phone which arrived the following day. The replacement worked perfectly. However when my first bill arrived it showed that the when the fake phone had the sim put in it, the number was hacked and criminals racked up a £253 phone bill. EE suspended my account at the end of the month without informing me , I rang them and informed them that I wished to cancel everything, I have had enough. I have emailed customer returns and requested that they organise collection of the phone and requested a full refund. I am now going to report this to the ombudsman and the police, I am a victim of fraud and I have had enough

Hi @Steve71.
Thanks for coming back and keeping us updated.
This is not the experience we like our customers to have.
Did the agent suspend your account and report this to our fraud team for a full investigation?
