Hi all,
I’ve recently upgraded to an iPhone 17, (not yet been despatched) but was wondering how does one go about changing to a new number with the new phone? As my current number is attached to an old job so I’d like a fresh start so to speak.

An upgrade is, by definition, a change of phone with your existing number. You can do one of two things.
1: Request a 14day cancellation of your upgrade, once actioned give 30days cancellation notice on your existing line and purchase your chosen phone as a new connection
2: Request a change of mobile number via CS on 150.
