I renewed my contract last month and changed from iOS to Android. I've tried, but I can't make the phone work for me so I moved my esim back to my iPhone, but now stuck with a device I'm paying for, which I don't really want to be doing.
I am now able to upgrade early but have to return my device, but as I have moved my sim back to my iPhone, it is showing that I have an iPhone on my EE account. If I upgrade, will EE be expecting me to return an iPhone, or the Samsung, which should be tied to the contract?
I want to trade in the Samsung and keep my old iPhone and upgrade to the 17PM.

It'll be the phone you've taken out on your contract that they'll be expecting back as any kind of Upgrade Anytime deal.
The device you see listed in the account is usually the most recent device the SIM was used in, as of their last check.
