I guess it depends on the plan you’re on, if you have e 12 months left and you’re on a split plan then I assume that you can just pay the handset off and order a new one (like O2 and Vodafone) but if you’re on a traditional plan which is £110 then the ETF will be in the region of £1300 and might not make your money back by selling the phone. Who’s going to want to pay that for a year old iPhone when the new one just came out?

The charge for the phone if you didn’t return it on Anytime Upgrade was always much less than the ETF would be which is why made sense to sell it and pay it.

That sucks!

I had the same email stating that I can expect to have it on launch day. Hopefully I don’t get one of those texts.

I went for the 16 Pro Max 256GB in Natural

Hi everyone. I’m a EE customer however first time this year ever that I’ve upgraded directly through Apple and not EE so I can share my experience with you on the other side of the fence so to speak…..

i ordered 2 phones on pre order day at 1pm.

First was a pro max 1TB white titanium and the payment was taken more or less straight away and delivery date on Apple was showing as Fri 20th Sept

Second phone ordered around 13:05 and was for a pro max 1TB black titanium and this payment has not been taken yet and delivery date is showing between 25th - 30th Sept

I’ve never ordered a phone from Apple before as always had new iPhones from EE on contract. I’d be extremely suprised if Apple had seriously that low stock levels that someone such as me ordering a iPhone pro max and completing checking literally 5 mins after site was live for them to run out of stock. I think it’s just stock movement on the system as my understanding is our devices all come from the international distribution centre in cork, Ireland so until stocks drops in on their system then our orders will show as pending (and a delayed delivery date)

Incidentally I went into the EE website around 9pm this evening (Sat) and even at that point I could order pretty much every model of iPhone and delivery date was 20th (launch day) so again back to my first point I’d be very suprised if we didn’t get ours directly from Apple on 20th

Some other forums folk are saying they are regulars from apple ordering and this is normal - beginning of week the delivery date changes to launch date

Fingers crossed heh

Expect it to be delayed pre ordered mine at 13.08 and said Available to pre-order. Expect delivery to you on launch date so now there saying my order been processed and they went out off stock so wont get it now until 21 days for the next batch

Yeah, usually when I wake up on Wednesday the EE website says 'expected in 24 hrs' and then on the Thursday get DPD and the plan texts. Fingers crossed.

I find it ridiculous that EE do this every year, they are selling devices on the pretext of being in stock then telling us we won't get them for 21 day's, I'm pretty sure it comes under miss leading the customer. 2 years on the trott this has happened to me, my order was placed before 13:06 then my return unit details taken so my order wasn't delayed. Yet I was still told 21 days at the end of the call. I refuse to believe they don't have enough stock for the first 10 minutes of orders especially after last year's sh*t show.

I think they just tell you 21 days to be safe, ordering at 13:06 I’m sure you’ll be getting it on Friday. Wouldn’t panic too much

Same here except directly on Apple Store. I was out of pre ordering checking and complete by 13:08 and yet my status order is 25th - 30th Sept

im sure it will be updated at start of this week to reflect launch day (20th)
