Ordered a new phone (Samsung A53, black) on Saturday evening. It was despatched on Sunday and I received notification yesterday morning that it would be delivered between 16:06-17:06 that day.
Shortly after 4pm yesterday, I was upstairs (but within earshot of the front door should anyone knock) and I suddenly receive a text saying "Sorry we missed you". I quickly dash down and look outside but there's no sign of a van. I look at the tracking on DPD's website and I see a picture of my front door taken just a few moments earlier!
To say I am annoyed would be an understatement. I know that had the driver knocked the door I would have heard it as the regular postman, Amazon delivery drivers and grocery delivery drivers (and all the unwanted door to door sales people / con artists for that matter) are all capable of making me hear them when I am upstairs (and I am still capable of dashing down quickly if necessary, but a less able person would not be).
I'm now having to wait for a redelivery attempt today.
How and to whom can I complain about this poor service from DPD?

It is not in DPD interest to not deliver your package becase is more of a burden to them. If you want to complain then do so here:

Thanks, although unfortunately, when you click on "Contact Us" via that link, it just takes you to an FAQs section - there is actually no way of contacting them via the website!
Anyway, I have just received notification of a redelivery attempt later today (13:31-14:31), and it's a different driver. Hopefully they will be better than yesterday's and I will also be tracking his progress on the app and looking out for the van nearer the time.

Well, it's just arrived. And as I was going to the door (as I was watching out for the van this time), the driver rang the doorbell AND knocked on my door - quite loudly, in fact!
When I commented that that was better than his colleague yesterday, he said that it was him that called yesterday (even though my notification stated a different name), and he claimed that he did knock the door. If that was the case, then he couldn't have done it very loudly...
Anyway, I now have my new gadget, so I need to go and set it up now...

This is why you should always give priority to local courier companies other than international companies. I know these international companies are cheaper but there is a high chance of your products losing while shipping because of their huge orders. But a local company can bring your goods to your door on the same day at affordable prices. And more importantly you will be provided the courier tracking number for secure shipping of your precious goods.
