Hi
my f&f discount gets automatically applied at the end of checkout of an upgrade - but it only seems to apply for fixed rate contracts (and the only option is a standard 35 gig one). It doesn't seem to work for any of the unlimited packages. Is this a known thing?
The f&f discount seems to be watered down every time I renew! It used to be 40% off the whole contract (including phone purchase)!
thanks
James

@_geoc You get a 50% discount if you take out a flex pay tariff and it’s only the air time part of that contract that gets the discount. You don’t get a discount on the device contract. If you take out a standard contract it’s only 30% and has been for a few years now. A sim only contract is also 30%.
If the tariff is already discounted then you can not apply a 2nd discount to it and yes you can apply a discount to unlimited tariffs.

thanks!
I've just noticed that when selecting any of the "unlimited" plans - it says "no further discount applicable" in the space where it says "50% off" when selecting a fixed tariff. But it doesn't explain why that is (for example if a discount is already applied).
so it looks like my only option is the 25gig contract 😕

Which tariff are you trying to choose for the Unlimited options? I believe since the plans were changed at the end of August that Family and Friends codes can only be used on "Core" Offers which excludes any promotions or time limited offers. Examples of the ineligble promos would be the £23 Unlimited Essentials or the 6 Month Half Price All Rounder or Full Works. You could use your discount on the £36 Essentials Plus plan for example which would be 50% off.
Family and Friends is now 50% off Flex Pay airtime or SIM Only, or 30% off 24m bundled plans if you don't qualify for Flex Pay.
