Is the roam abroad pass valid for one whole month from the date you take it out or only until the end of that months billing cycle?

To clarify before I do it, as I'm still overseas.
My billing date is on Monday, but I'm only abroad for 4 days after that. So won't need a new roaming pass. If I cancel it now, will it cancel it immediately or will it remain active until my billing date?
