Netflix activation link doesn't work

Hi,

My wife upgraded to a new phone with one of the smart benefit plan. We chose the Netflix. She received the activation link but when I log in to our Netflix account I can't change it to the EE smart benefit one. We use a different email address to the Netflix than to her EE account. Could this be the issue?

Kind regards,

Erik

Hi @Erxtmp,

As long as you have followed the instructions shared by @Leanne_T, you won't be charged by Netflix on your next billing date. Netflix will retain your original billing details to use if you ever cancel your Smart Benefit.

Hi @Erxtmp

Thanks for coming back to the community 🙂

When your wife followed the activation link, did she use the email address already registered for a Netflix account?

You can find information in our Netflix on EE, Help page for setting up when you have a Netflix account already 🙂

Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

Yes she used the email already registered for a Netflix account. But when she logged in to the Netflix with that address she didn't see any changes to the EE about the account.

Kind regards,

Erik

Hi @Erxtmp

Do you have a subscription with Netflix or another provider?

Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

Yes, we have a Netflix subscription.

Hi @Erxtmp

It sounds like you have done everything you need to do, here is the details from the help page for having an existing Netflix account;

When you activate your Netflix Smart Benefit, you'll be asked to enter your email address. If you have an existing Netflix account, make sure you use the same email address to activate the Smart Benefit, otherwise you'll continue to be charged separately for your existing Netflix account.

You'll then be asked to confirm which Netflix plan you'd like to continue with.

That's all you need to do! You can continue to use your Netflix account details and your bill from Netflix will swap over to your EE bill.

If you end your EE plan, your Netflix plan will continue, and Netflix will resume billing via your previous method of payment.

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

Do I have to see any changes in my wife's Netflix account? Like the billing to EE?

Kind regards,

Erik

HI James,

Thanks. I followed the steps. I thought it will appear an EE account or billing or something in the Netflix.

Kind regards,

Erik

I have the same problem and when I followed the instructions, my Netflix account was reactivated and a previously set up payment card was charged £10.99.

I've now cancelled this from my next Netflix billing date and still don't have the swappable benefit activated.

Please can you help?
