EE, unlike other networks (T-Mobile US for example) will not allow one to make calls over the internet. So when out of the country, you are forced to pay EE more dosh.
I have spoken to EE several times about this and have yet to get a clear answer. I don't need data. Just the ability to call. I can receive texts (Wow) so my two factor authentication still works...
I was told by a representative I could purchase international minutes 30/60/120. I have tried to work my way through the opaque online pages to find an answer to this to no avail.
Here are my questions:
1. How do I purchase only minutes?
2.Are the minutes like a pay as you go phone, in that they have no expiry date
3. Are these minutes good internationally, or only for the country I purchased them for?
Looking forward to help.

Hi @Nigel55.
Are you in Malaysia now?
You can see the available minutes bundles in our Roaming Page.
The bundle will last one billing month.

I'm sorry, this does not answer any of my questions.
I do not need any data, I have a local account with unlimited data.
Let me repeat.
1. How do I purchase only call minutes?
2.Are the minutes like a pay as you go phone, in that they have no expiry date
3. Are these minutes good internationally, or only for the country I purchased them for?
Thank-you

Hi @Nigel55.
You can purchase an international minutes bundle in your My EE Account.
The minutes will last until the end of your billing month.
You can use the minutes in all non EU countries.

You'll find this under Plan and Subscriptions, then Add-Ons, @Nigel55.
