Apple TV+ 6 month offer - on a smart TV?

I want to activate the offer of 6 months free Apple TV+ on my Samsung smart TV

The EE guide to setting it up only seems to apply to phones 

I don’t want to watch on my phone, I want to watch on my TV - how do I go about setting up and using this offer?

@mopezone  You set it up first then login to the same account on the Apple TV+ app on your TV

Thanks Chris - except that there is no Apple TV+ app on my Samsung TV!

Do you have any set top boxes or games consoles etc. connected to your TV that support the Apple TV+ app?

@James_B I have a Virgin TIVO box connected, which supports Netflix & Amazon Video, but I've scrolled through and can't find Apple TV+ anywhere - I checked the TV itself again and EE TV has now appeared as an app but no sign of Apple TV+ even if I search for apps

You'll only be able to download the Apple TV app on compatible devices.

I have done all of this and I just get could not sign in, on a loop this is on a samsung TV but via EE home page (TV - where I use nextflix, prime, etc, it will log in on my laptop - but I don't watch TV on my laptop? any ideas pretty please

Are you able to enter your log in details on the TV and then get an error? Or, does the TV go back to the log in page?
