I really need to speak to a company in the Seychelles,  but when they try to phone me the get a number busy message every time.  If I try and phone them I am told that the number isn't recognised.

Have you been able to make or receive calls to/from this number previously? Presumably you can make & receive calls from other numbers OK?

Yes, UK numbers are not a problem.  Plus I tried Canadian number & it rang ok.

Are you able to call other local numbers in the Seychelles, @John563?

Is it a standard mobile/landline number or premium rate?

James

As far as I know it is a standard landline number.  I have tried a couple of numbers I found in the an online yellow pages without success but I've no way of knowing if they are current or not.

Are you adding the international dialling code (+248), @John563?

Yes, I have tried 0248 & 00248 just says 'you have dialed an incorrect number'.

What type of phone are you using, @John563?

Do you have dial assist/assisted dialling turned on in your call settings?

I'm using a Samsung A40 Android.  I have no idea about dial assist - I don't think so, plus it wouldn't stop the company phoning me, would it?

Hi @John563,

Checking to see if dial assist was causing issues for outbound calls would help us determine if the problem in at your end or the callers.

Another couple of things to check would be if you have inadvertently added the number to your blocked list and trying to select a different roaming network manually.

Go to Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Tap OK to try another network.
