I really need to speak to a company in the Seychelles, but when they try to phone me the get a number busy message every time. If I try and phone them I am told that the number isn't recognised.

Under network operators I can only 'select automatically' on or off.
There is also 'data roaming' which is turned on.
I can't find dial assist on my phone.
Just noticed that the phone app has permission to change settings on this phone - should I turn that off?

Hi @John563,
Not all Android phone's have the dial assist feature and you don't need to change your permissions settings.
When you turn off automatic network selection, are you presented with a list of available networks?

Are you in the UK or abroad?

Yes, it lists five including EE.

In the UK.

The advice to try an alternative roaming network applies for troubleshooting connectivity issues whilst abroad, not the issue in your case whilst in the UK
Using + in place of the international dialling code should be a reliable method. Have you been able to make or receive calls to/from this number previously?

I've had no reason to call this number before. They need to call me as part of a verification process, but said that every time they tried the number it just said that it was busy. In an effort to try and resolve the issue I tried phoning them, without success. That is until your suggestion of using + . Thank you. It now remains to be seen if they can call me but at least I feel I'm halfway there.

Using the prefix '+' when dialling them won't affect their calls to you.
