Voicemail not activated

As per subject. I'm on £1 talk and text which works reliably. Using a Nokia 130.

I can get through to the VM service via 222 or holding the 1 key.

I get "I'm sorry, but you don't seem to have voicemail activated on your account"

If I call the mobile then "The person you are calling isn't accepting messages right now, why don't you...."

If I text VM ON or VM OFF to 150 I get a text back saying this has worked, for example: "Your request to turn on call divert to voicemail has been successful".

I have tried VM OFF, phone off, phone on, VM ON. Still the same.

Twice chatted online with assistants who claim to be able to reset this remotely, one suggested the sim was "3G compatible" and I should request a new one, is this plausible?

Ok folks, a new EE SIM card is now installed and I can get through to voicemail, plus the "message waiting" icon has cleared 👍 This is good. Thanks to EE and tech support.

However - before I changed the card, I copied the contacts on the old card into phone memory. When I try to copy contacts to the new SIM it says "Target memory full". Eh? Full of what? I'll probably start a new subject on this...

The But? Does the text actually have the word "OrangeCust" in it or is it just that you happen to have a Contact named "OrangeCust" for the number 150?

Good spot there - it was a contact I must have saved an age ago.... Sender is just "150"
