I setup data roaming prior to my flight to Portugal earlier today, I have landed and am unable to text or call anyone despite activating Data Roaming, I have already tried restarting my phone and that did not help, I would appreciate speedy assostance to get this matter resolved quickly.

Oh and some additional information, I get an EE message error 0 when trying to text and a local automated voice telling me I can't make calls which then hangs up.

@Assistance1 : A data roaming setting on your phone does not give you the ability to roam abroad in the 1st place & certainly has nowt to do with calls & texts. It just allows you to use data abroad providing you have already activated roaming in general on yout EE a/c.
Are you on contract or PAYG? Did you use that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?
If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.
Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto. Otherwise you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

To add - if you haven't enabled roaming on your account, your phone won't connect to foreign networks and will consequently not get coverage.
Without network coverage, you will be unable to make or receive calls (voice roaming), send or receive text messages (text roaming), or use mobile data (data roaming).
Phones don't have settings for voice roaming or text roaming, but they would be the equivalent to data roaming.
