Unable to receive SMA while in Ghana

I am  on PAYG and since I arrived in Ghana SMS has stopped receiving I only received sms for couple of  days and its stopped, I can receive call OK, I tried changing roaming network to either Vodafone or MTN and both comes out as NO service and cant connect to the two networks listed when I go manual network select. I can only roam on AirtelTigo network. Without SMS I cant receive OTP for other service I need while away from UK.

Katie, I have spent hours with CS on the phone and on X (twitter) DM and they don't have a clue and instead of raising the issue further up they have just wash it under the carpet until I return back to UK . I have even raised the issue with Togo GH the roaming partner of EE to at their end why this is happening now, I have been coming here every year and this is the first time I have faced issue with EE roaming.

Did Technical Support raise a single user fault ticket for you, @Law53?

Nop they didn't they just blame local network.

Roaming networks wouldn't differentiate between mobile-originated & automated-type SMS.

That's done by EE's core network. I suspect CS wouldn't realise this.

It's not only automated messages, CS even sent me text message and I did not receive it, Several OTP's from Amazon and other banks OTP was never received. EE has an issue and don't want to acknowledge it.

I would advise getting back in touch with our tech guides to get this looked into again and see if they can suggest anything else for you to try.

Miracle just happened, I just  received my usual automated text message @ 17:02 , not sure who has rectified the issue,  AirtelTigo  Ghana or EE  since I reported the  issue on both network. I will wait for tomorrow' message to confirm this is actually fix and will close the issue. I will love to know what the cause of the issue was but I doubt I will get that.
