Spurios voicemail notifications

del51
Explorer

I keep getting a notification that I have a new voicemail, but I haven't.   When I delete the notification (via settings), I get another one shortly afterwards.  The phone does NOT ring.

I have switched off voice mail via VM OFF, to no avail.

@del51 : Send yourself a VM & then delete it. See if that cures the issue.

Yes - this did EVENTUALLY cure the problem.

Initially, the phone would not divert to vm.  I tried VM ON and VM OFF several times, but kept getting an error message saying "There was a problem processing your request to divert your vm.  Phone 150."  Well I'm deaf and unable to hear on the phone, so that option was out.  I looked around via the web site and the app, and there was no alternative.  So I wrote via snail mail.  After a series of emails with their customer complaints, it transpires that:

1.  The spurious vm notifications are a long-standing error

2.  VM ON/OFF is also a know error

3.  "Chat" on the website is another problem as it only works intermittently

They had to perform some kind of network refresh which at least allowed my phone to divert to VM.  After that, I followed the suggested fix above and it has (for the last few days at least) cured the problem.  The other issues, plus a very slow app, remain as problems.  Del
