Roaming in EU: time limit?

I am moving to France for several months and wondered if there was a time limit on how long I can use my UK data plan in the EU? I have a pay monthly contract, is it worth me getting my phone unlocked and getting a French SIM card while I am there?

@Swilliams321  yes there is a time limit it’s two months in any four months period.  

 You can request the device to be unlocked via your my EE app or by calling customer services.  EE will only grant that request if you’ve had the device longer than 6 months since you purchased it.
