Hello I called in advance of my trip to Singapore and Hong Kong - EE assured me they would add a £10 daily add on to allow me to use the service seamlessly on arrival. As has happened before on arrival nothing happens ! I’ve checked all my setting for data roaming etc and messaged 150 as instructed on the arrival text. Still nothing. No help from CS as it’s a bank holiday today. Does EE still “do international” or should I go with a different provider as a relatively frequent business traveller ? Any views particularly welcome at this time !

Hi @JACS65
Roaming is expensive in those locations. It depends on the services you are wanting to use as some might be banned. Have you tried connecting manually to the local network.

You can use wifi call EE on Skype using the number in my signature to contact EE.
Thanks

Is yours a consumer or business account? The available add-ons do differ, and many people do attempt to claim business use on consumer accounts.
What do you mean by "on arrival nothing happened"?
Regardless of any billing add-on, your ability to get coverage abroad (which calls, texts & mobile data rely on) is dependent on roaming being activated - which allows your phone to connect to foreign networks.
On PAYG, this is auto-enabled once your phone is used in the UK first.
On pay-monthly, this needs to be enabled manually - usually by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. Did you do this?
If you are on pay-monthly and now find yourself abroad without having enabled roaming, your only recourse will be to contact CS to request it activated. You can either contact +44 7953 966150 from another working phone, or +44 800 0798586 using a web-calling app such as Skype over WiFi.

As mentioned, the billing add-on is immaterial, its sole purpose is to reduce the monetary cost of roaming. You still need the roaming facility enabled which unlocks access to foreign networks and thus provides the ability to roam in the first place.
It would have been helpful had CS checked for this being in-place beforehand, but assuming you have tried manually connecting to each & every local network without success, you can only assume this is not enabled. The final paragraph in my previous post will therefore stand.
