Hi, hope you can help/
both my wife and I are on vacation at the moment. We have both taken our EE sim only phones with us. We have logged onto the apartment Wi-Fi,and have turned off the roaming on the phones. Does this mean there will be no extra surprises on the bill,on our return,or is something else we need to do ? Thanks
Paul

The way to avoid roaming charges is not to use your phone on any foreign mobile network for any calls, outgoing text messages or mobile data.
Removing the SIM would prevent any mobile network connection being made - your phone will only work on WiFi for internet-based functions, and will not be able to send or receive text messages, or make/receive any calls.
Enabling flight mode will prevent any mobile network connection being made, and your phone will also only work on WiFi. Be aware WiFi-calling is not supported abroad, and if it happens to do so - roaming charges apply to any calls or texts.
The menu option you've disabled on your phones is very likely the "data roaming" option - all this does is prevent mobile data being used whilst roaming, it does not stop roaming completely.

@Fuerteventura1 put the device into Airplane Mode then turn Wi-Fi back on in the device settings. This will ensure you have no cellular connection with the device.

Thanks for that, just out of curiosity,if I were to pop the sim out, would that have the same effect?

Appreciate your solution. So basically if I turn the phones off,and keep them in the drawer, there would be no charges . I can use an I pad hooked up to the Wi-Fi in this apartment. Thanks
