Mobile texts sometimes unrecognised

Hi.,

Last October I joined EE from Giffgaff.

I inserted the new simcard to my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone, all went well.

However, during the festive period I sent out a lot of texts to all my contacts, with wishes.

Some replied asking who it was that sent the text as they had a different mobile number come through, not my original and kept number.

Also periodically I get a text where, on some posts like on Whatsapp, u can hightlight a text to add an emoji to that particular post. where as you cant do this on normal texts but I occasionally receive a copied text like this one for instance. "Loved "Happy New Year. Hope 2024 brings You..." and thats it so it seems that somehow something or someone has tried to send a heart emoji attached to a text but it has been added as Loved instead of a heart which I assume u cant add an emoji to a normal text.

Has anyone come across either of the above, I'd be very interested to know more & how I can resolve these 2 issues.

Sincere Thanks

Paul

Hello @Anton662000 ,

Welcome to the community,

Have you checked that your SIM card and phone now have your correct number showing, also you may want to check the same for messaging.?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Hi Schockwave.,

I've checked my sim card info & it does state my original number that I kept.

As I explained on my post, that most of my contacts were aware it was me but some didnt because they had a different number come up on their phone. This number was the same that was popping up on all of the very few contacts that received it.

I will contact EE tech team, see if they can help

Cheers

Paul
