Roaming about turn by EE

I have been informed today by EE that I can only have the EE Roaming add on if I pay £20, normally £10 in vat this because my bill payment date is in the middle of the period I require.
m why can’t they just charge me £5 on the first bill and £5 on the next bill?
As a long term EE customer I feel this is just money grabbing

When you add any chargeable bundle mid-month, your following months bill will have 2 charges..

1: Pro-rata amount covering the part-month between adding the bundle, and your billing date

2: A full-month of the bundle covering the whole of your following bill cycle

When you then remove the bundle, it will also be part-way through your bill cycle and the reverse will apply.

You will ultimately only pay for the days that the bundle is active.

@Neilc2 : You'll pay for the Roam Abroad Pass pro-rata from the time you order it to the time you stop it. If your billing date falls in between you'll pay for the period beforehand for just the days you had it that period. In the bill after you stop it you will get a credit for the days after you stopped it.

                 Bill Date...............Start Pass...............Bill Date...............Stop Pass...............Bill Date

Pay:                0                            <----------------------|------------------------------------------------->

Refund:                                                                                                     -<---------------------->|

Thanks for the reply, maybe somebody should inform or retrain the staff who answer the help line phones at EE
As I was told differently today and I would be charged £20 as it overlaps to of my monthly payments.

Sorry but that is incorrect, I raised a complaint with EE and they phoned me direct and explained that the full £20 charge will apply,

no part used refunds are offer

You were fobbed off & given the wrong info.

What's this then in EE's own words , What is the Roam Abroad Pass? :

How much does the Roam Abroad Pass cost?

£10 per month. This cost will be added to your monthly mobile bill and will appear as a separate line in the add-ons section of your bill. If you add this service in the middle of your monthly billing period then the cost in the first month will be prorated.

How do I remove my roaming pass?

If you cancel during the middle of your monthly billing period then the cost in the final month will be prorated and you'll only be billed for the days you had the pass.

Are you still confident this answer is correct XRaySpeX?  The Roam Abroad page I am looking at on the website says:

How do I remove my roaming pass?

If you have the pass as a chargeable standalone add-on:

  1. text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150

If you cancel during your monthly billing period you’ll be charged £10 for the full month, not just for the days you had the pass.

It is very confusing!  I am away for 8 days - it is worth getting the pass as long as I am not being charged for 2mo!!  I am away over my billing date.  Can anyone clarify?
