Not impressed - I paid for the add-on to allow me to use data when in the USA on holiday. I was able to post in WhatsApp without an issue but found the FaceBook was unable to locate anything if I tried to check-in unless I was connected to a local WiFi or a hotspot from my son or daughters phone. My daughter has the same phone and add-in but had no issues so we spent some time going through all the permissions and settings both in Facebook and on the phone (made sure we had connected to the same provider) but was unable to resolve it. I even cleared cache and data in FB and uninstalled it then reinstalled - still nothing. As soon as we landed back in the UK and my phone connected to EE the check-in facility worked!
As this was the main reason I wanted the Roam Abroad add-in it was a total waste of money!! Will be looking for a new provider once I am out of contract!

Whatever billing add-on you've chosen, your phone needs to be setup to connect to foreign networks which is known as roaming. This is normally done by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK - did you do this?
If you didn't, then that permission is not inplace and will now cause catch-22 inability to connect. Your only recourse will be to contact CS from another means (Skype or another phone) and reauest roaming is activated.
The only issue in your case is that you mention WhatsApp worked - this is just an app that uses the internet. If you were able to do this over mobile data, there's no reason other services shouldn't work over the same internet connection. You may have inadvertently been using a WiFi connection rather than a mobile network one?

Hi @MartinS99
If WhatsApp was working on the US network then your roaming was fine. EE are not responsible for Facebook.
Thanks
